On a Lighter Note…

After writing that last entry, I asked Tim, “Do you think that is too depressing? Are all my blogs that depressing?” So, to lift the mood a little, I thought I would list some of the things I thank God for. These are just some of the people and events that I can’t believe God has blessed me with:

A partial list of blessings:

1. The most wonderful husband in the world. When talking with women, I always apologize for taking the most awesome guy around. I don’t know why God has given me such a forgiving, loving, humorous, insightful man – probably to balance me out!

2. Three great children. The other day when I again told the kids that I loved them. Ryan said, “Mom, you can stop telling us that”. When I told him that there were some kids who grew up never knowing a parent’s love, and so he better be grateful, he responded, “Well, you tell us all the time. You can stop now!”

3. Two godly extended families. I love the support and encouragement that come from Tim’s parents and siblings (and families) and my parents and siblings (and families). To know that we are all united in a common goal of seeking God’s will is rare in 2 such large families.

4. A caring church family. In the 5 ½ years that we have been here, there have been some “rough” spots. But I can honestly say now that I love to go to church! I see people loving each other, laughing and crying with each other, and most importantly, praying for each other. I wonder how many pastor’s wives are able to say that they have some great friends in their congregation.

5. The true written history of God’s working in a segment of humanity. If you haven’t learned from these blogs – I love reading the Bible. As I study how God has worked, I constantly pray that God would show me more of who he is. I am grateful that God allows us to have something in our hands that helps us understand him.

I could go on and on, but I’ll stop so I can serve my family supper! I do thank God for all of you who he has placed in my life.

Haha about Ryan. He’s too young for that “Awwww mom…don’t do that!” stuff!

Tami- I just have to say that at West O we simply grow #1 husbands. I am thankful for the ministries for women and men at our church these have reminded us all of what the Lord requires of us in our marriages and relationships.

    Love, Loretta

LOL - I knew (and hoped) that there would be responses from wives saying that their husbands are great too!! Thanks for commenting!
