Updates
Well, some of you have been asking about how camp etc. went and I realized that, although I have been writing here, I have not updated recent things in my life. So, I thought I would do another “updates”.
1. Last week Miriam and Ryan attended Montrose Bible Kids Camp. Both kids LOVED it. As a 7 year old, this was Ryan’s first year going, and he left with much less fear than his mother had!! Although I think he had moments of homesickness, all in all he did very well and even wanted to spend another week there! I taught the chapels for Sunday night, Monday & Tuesday (twice each day) and Wednesday morning. Once again I had the thrill of teaching excited children the word of God, this year using Walk Thru the Bible’s New Testament kid’s seminar. I cannot even begin to tell you the feelings I had as all those kids got excited about God’s word. I love the quiet hush that comes as I give the gospel and I know the kids are thinking about Jesus’ sacrifice. Then, at the end, after discussing Paul’s missionary journeys, when I commented, “Paul died, the other disciples died. Whose job is it now to tell people about Jesus?” They all yelled, “Ours!” Awesome is the only way to describe it!!
2. For those of you who know my mother, you may be interested in knowing that she cracked her hip on Saturday. This does not leave her bedridden, but she moving around with a walker or crutches at this point. These are the times when I am thankful that God moved us back here close to my parents so we can help in times like this! Thank you for praying for her!
3. We are eating vegetables from our garden!!!!!!!!! As those of you know who have been reading these blogs, this is a very welcome surprise!! I’ve frozen some beans, eaten and frozen zucchini bread, and already eaten lots of lettuce and cucumbers. The kids are LOVING the garden, and it is fun to see their excitement over how God thought through seeds, growth and production. If any of you have any recommendations or recipes for zucchini, cucumbers, or tomatoes, I would love to hear from you! I am searching for ways to preserve the harvest since my family definately won’t eat everything as it matures!
Well, that’s about all for now! God is good!
