Continuing On…

It feels like it is probably time to give you an update about my life. I have a few reasons for this. One, to let you know a little more about my actual life, and two, to give you more items to add to your prayer list! LOL Please know that I would love to have items from your life to pray about. If you leave a comment here, I will receive the request. If you want me to know of a prayer item but do not want it on the website, just leave a comment but put in the comment that you don’t want it online. All comments come to my email before they are posted. I will make sure that any you do not want online will not get there! Just let me know.

1. I have had a wonderful break from school. We painted our bedroom, celebrated Easter with friends and family, and a week later had a visit from Tim’s mom and brother. We figured out the problem of our roof, and fixed some chairs and a table. However, the most enjoyable part of my break was the time I got to spend with friends and women of the church. I ate lunch, drank coffee and talked with many people. God has created so many diverse, wonderful, caring people! I also was able to begin thinking of spring as I got some seeds/plants for the garden, saw a robin and spring flowers. Which brings me to…

2. Classes start this week again for me, and I am dreading being in school and doing school work while it is spring outside! However, as I began studying this week, I concluded again that this is where God wants me now. I will finish this term June 26, so I am already counting the weeks!

3. April promises to be extremely busy for me. I have 3 weekend Walk Thru seminars in a row (this weekend in Staten Island, then in Rochester and finally in Connecticut). I enjoy teaching, and I know that God uses this ministry. However, I am very conscious of the stress that my being gone lays on my family. Thank you for praying for them, the kids at the seminar and for strength for me in the upcoming weeks.

4. Our family life continues to be busy. Miriam will be Tom in the play “Tom Sawyer” that her school will put on in June. She begins softball this week; Ryan should begin baseball soon. Ryan and Miriam also began new music lessons this week! They are taking a break from piano so Miriam can learn a little on the drums while Ryan will take bass guitar lessons. Miriam has always been great with rhythm, and after her first lesson her teacher commented, “She’s really good!” Because of Ryan’s age, he needs a ½ size bass (who knew they made such a thing!), but he is sooo excited about learning that instrument. Caleb continues to love art projects, and he began an ant farm (in an enclosed container!!). Each child is so unique. As any mom does, I see so many ways God can use them, but I also am aware of the struggles they face.

5. The church, spiritually, seems to be going the best it has since we have been here. The excitement is contagious; people desire to grow and reach out. However, this week we said goodbye to our Associate pastor and his wife because of financial issues. I will miss their friendship, insight and support at the church. This has awakened in me a desire to be even more fervent in my prayers for the church and community. God is NOT finished in West Oneonta yet, and I am excited to see what he will do!

Thank you for praying and reading these blogs. I appreciate the connection they bring to many of us. Feel free to comment and let me know about your lives as well!

Tami, I first met you when you spoke last November at the Montrose Bible Conference during the Quilt Weekend. I am a widow of two years and during these two years have encountered many obstacles in maintaining our farm and trying to sell it. Last November I enjoyed hearing you speak it was very moving to me. I read the bible every day and pray to God and my angels and they have brought me through the tough times. I must say that I enjoy reading your blogs and feel very close to you and God while I read them. When I sell my farm I am hoping to move to Montrose, PA because I feel a closeness to God there and I would be only 30 minutes to my family. I presently live in Greenville, NY (outside of Port Jervis) and am 2.5 miles from my family. I do attend a very nice church here and the people are very nice but something is pulling me to Montrose. I hope that in the future I will once again meet you and hear you speak but in the meantime I will enjoy your blogs. May God continue to bless you and your family. I feel that in reading your blogs that even though I have read something in the bible reading your comments really reinforces it and helps me understand it even better. Keep up your good work.
